CAN WE BUILD IT? YES WE CAN! BOB THE BUILDER: DIG THIS DVD RELEASE ON SALE MONDAY 17TH APRIL 2017 …View Post
There are so many pieces and parts to running a great blog, it’s hard to keep up with it all. Social Media helps you to connect with others, get your posts seen and shared. Are you blogging to yourself? Do you want to be noticed but don’t know how to get there?
Running your blog in a vacuum is a futile process. “Build it and they will come” is just a line from a movie. Instantaneous Stardom rarely happens in real life. You have to be seen to be noticed.
Social Media and Blogging
Social Media connects us with others who find value in our posts. It helps to grow our audience and hone our skills. It will put you in the position to be noticed by Brands. Brands who do business with bloggers.
Social Media and Monetizing your Blog
Brands want bloggers that are connected. Not only are they looking for a large following, they search for bloggers who have an engaged following. You may have a million followers on Twitter, but are you interacting with them? If not, you won’t be as valuable to a Brand as someone with 5,000 followers that are interactive.
Building a large, committed platform can take years. It’s a lot of work and it takes a concentrated effort. Let’s work together to speed it up a bit.
Meet your hosts:

Your social media numbers will grow, but follower growth is just one part of the equation. We can help you with the numbers, it’s up to you to make the connection.
When you are clicking through to each social media account in the linkup, take some action. Like a few status updates, comment or share. Make a connection.

Last week we made an Easter bunny puppet on the blog for D. L wasn’t so keen on that idea, so we had to come up with a different idea for him.
He really wanted a bunny. He really wanted to use the paper plates. But he didn’t want the same as his brother. But most of all, he didn’t want a puppet.
As a twin mum I have had to get used to this. Sometimes they want the EXACT same thing. Sometimes ‘same, same but different.”
So I came up with something that looked sufficiently different for L to do and he was pretty chuffed.
What do you need to make an Easter Paper Plate Bunny
- two paper plates
- googly eyes
- cotton ball
- coloured card
- a pen
The first step is to cut two strips off the first paper plate to make the ears. Then L coloured the inside of the ears in pink.
We then stuck them onto the other paper plate. We originally tried this with glue, however that didn’t work. It just wouldn’t stick. So I had to stick them on with sellotape in the end.
L then made a face with a spare yellow sticker we had, a cotton ball and a pen.
I then cut out a bowtie for L to stick on the bunny. L was pretty happy with this craft. Simple, easy and fun to do. Oh, and I have only had to re-stick the ears on a couple of times!
If you have any fun craft ideas for Easter, then I would love you to let me know in the comments below.
We hope you have a wonderful Easter holiday. Don’t eat too much chocolate … or do, it is Easter after all!
I love reading new books and it is fabulous to discover new ones and be able to share them on the blog with you.
This week I have been reading Will to Live. A fabulous page turner which I would recommend you add to your holiday reading list.
About Will To Live
When a packed commuter train runs over a body on a stretch of track known to locals as ‘Suicide Mile’, it soon transpires that the man was a victim of a calculated murder.
As the investigation evolves and a pattern of murders is uncovered, Detective Sergeant Kay Hunter realises the railway’s recent reputation may be the work of a brutal serial killer.
With a backlog of cold cases to investigate and attempting to uncover who is behind a professional vendetta against her, Kay must keep one step ahead of both the killer and her own adversaries.
When a second murder takes place within a week of the first, she realises the killer’s timetable has changed, and she’s running out of time to stop him…
Will to Live is the second book in a new crime thriller series featuring Kay Hunter – a detective with a hidden past and an uncertain future…
If you like Angela Marsons, Peter James and Robert Bryndza, discover the latest addition to Rachel Amphlett’s new series today.
I have not read any books by author Rachel before. However, I am impressed with this book. I will definitely be reading more from her.
The book was the second in this series. My next move is to get the first book and read the original story. Still, I was able to enjoy this book regardless even though I had not read the first book.
This well paced book is a fabulous crime thriller and one of my favourite genres of book. However, there is so much more to the book. It is not just about the crime, it is about the characters as well. Which really sets it apart from your average crime book. You really buy into Kay, her husband and her other relationships.
