Craft with the letter D: Dinosaur

Craft with the letter D: Dinosaur

Following on from my previous alphabet post, Craft with the letter C: Caterpillar, on the same day we also did a craft with the letter D. This was a combination of it being a terrible rainy day and also D was very excited as that is the letter his name starts with.

It took a little while for D to decide what he wanted to do.  He spent ages deliberating whether he wanted a dog or a dinosaur.  Eventually we went for a dinosaur….

Craft with the letter D

What you need:

  • Card
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Tissue Paper
  • Stickers to decorate

How to make a dinosaur

On some card, draw a large D.  Then cut out the a neck and head out of green paper and stick it onto the end.

Then run glue round the letter and then stick small pieces of green tissue paper to the D.

Once done you can cut out.  The cut out two dinosaur legs and stick onto the bottom.

It was another easy crafts, I like to keep it simple as I want the boys to be able to them largely on their own.  I was so chuffed to see both boys easily use the scissors to cut out the dinosaur, and previously the caterpillar.  It was definitely a proud mummy moment.

Craft with the letter D

The boys start school in September and both asked if there would be crafts in school.  I think they are excited to try out new things and I love that they have some incredible imaginations!

I hope you can recreate this simple craft at home.  Please let me know how you get on if you give it a try.  I love to hear from you so please leave me comment below or on social media.
