Sleeping Soundly with Hartmann Direct

Potty training is a fun time and this week I have been thinking back to when the boys were going through that fun milestone.

I always felt like it was one thing to be at home when you had all your things around you to help – mainly the washing machine! – and another thing to be on holiday or staying at someones house.

Being away from home was especially hard when the boys decided that nappies were for babies and they wanted to go ‘free and easy’ at night time as well.

Who could blame them really?!

It can’t be nice to sleep with a nappy on.  The thing is, we found that it was not as easy  as them just deciding.  It takes a little practice to get them to have bladder control when sleeping!  We had a few accidents, and I am not sure about anyone else but at 3am the last thing I want to do is have to think about what to do.  I want it to be simple and easy so we can all get back to sleep.

So I was really looking for an answer to my prayers when I discovered disposable bed mats.  They protect the mattress and are easy to sort at silly o’clock in the morning.  I felt this was a much better alternative to pull-ups.  With pull-ups the boys felt they were in a nappy so I just didn’t feel like we were getting anywhere.  Whereas with this, they felt like they had made the step to being nappy free, but the bed was still protected.

We just went for the small pads as that was all that was needed. My two pretty much don’t move when they are sleeping.

The ones that we used were from Hartmann Direct. I loved that you could choose a size depending on your needs.

After all some kiddies might still be in cot beds and some moved into single beds already. Or you might have a bedtime wriggler and need the whole bed covered just in case!!

The company supply a lot of different types of products for mattress protection for hospitals and the like. So, they know what they are doing with regards to these products.

The pad is perfect and worked amazingly for our little bedtime issues.  Thankfully we are through that stage now and I can’t remember the last time we had to change the pads. But we have them for when we go on holiday now, you know… just in case!

Great post – I definitely will be looking into these. Harri although is fully toilet trained still can have the odd accident in the night and I was thinking of buying some kind of mattress protector but I actually prefer the idea of disposable bed mats, I have enough washing!!

These sound great! I could do with these for the girls, although they are toilet trained, they do sometimes have accidents at night if they are in a deep sleep. Harry still wears a nappy to bed but we will be stopping that soon too, I’ll be getting some of these for sure!

These are amazing for potty training. When I potty trained Alice I brought some cheap throws for my sofa and I put these underneath the throw to protect my sofas. With them hidden under the throw she didn’t know they were there and it gave me the peace of mind that my sofas were not going to be ruined. They are the best invention ever!!! x
