LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes Review

LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes Review

The boys were very excited this week to be testing out the LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes play sets!

We all love LEGO in our house, and I spend many afternoons after kindergarten helping the boys build LEGO.  I think lots of generations have loved LEGO, I know I did when I was a kid.  Let’s face it, it has been a staple family toy since 1949 (yes, I had to google that; no, I didn’t know it off the top of my head).

As a mum, I am more than happy to encourage the kids to play with LEGO for entertainment and developmental reasons.  It is good for creativity, problem solving, construction and motor development.  Also it encourages lateral thinking.

Not just that, the boys are Batman and Superman mad. So, to combine the two is just a dream come true for the boys.  I have to admit to also being excited, I love wonder woman!

Therefore, it didn’t take long for the boys to get stuck in and test run the new play sets! So, let’s have a look at what is available from the LEGO MARVEL super heroes play sets…

L testing out the lego marvel super heroes playsets

Superman vs Bizarro – RRP £8.99

Let’s start with L’s favourite, Superman (as you can see from the above photos, which see him sporting his superman t-shirt and cape).  You can zoom into battle to catch Bizarro, armed with blue kryptonite.  Watch out though, Bizarro has green kryptonite to even the score!  I knew L would love the Superman LEGO, but he has started carrying Bizarro around with him because he likes his purple cape!

We loved this set, which came with two mighty micros vehicles, Bizarro & Superman minifigures and the legendary kryptonite.

Batman vs Killer Moth – RRP £8.99

Moving onto D’s favourite, Batman!  Batman has the Batcopter with him, which caused huge excitement with the boys! You can swoop through the air in the Batcopter to catch the Killer Moth.  We are all rooting for the Dark Knight to win!

This fabulous set came with two mighty micros vehicles and the Batman & Killer Moth minifigures.

Wonder Woman vs Doomsday – RRP £8.99

I love Wonder Woman and I even have a jumper to prove it!  With this play set, she takes on Doomsday who is going in for the attack with his club.  Wonder Woman is in her invisible jet though so he better watch out!

This set includes two mighty micro vehicles, Wonder Woman and Doomsday minifigures.

Spider-man vs Scorpion – RRP £8.99

Everyone loves Spider-man, right?  We certainly do and this play set was a hit with the kids.  Spider-man has to watch out for Scorpions stings in his tail and the pincers which can throw Spider-man from his car.  Spider-man has a mini-spider to retaliate though.

This set comes with two mighty micro vehicles, Spider-man and Scorpion mini-figures.

Iron Man vs Thanos – RRP £8.99

Iron Man is on the case with is super-fast car – complete with rear rocket thrusters ! He is ready to take on Thanos, who has his own super power, the infinity gauntlet.  Watch out for the ultimate showdown!

This set comes complete with two Mighty Micros vehicles, Iron Man and Thanos mini-figure.

Wolverine vs Magneto – RRP £8.99

Last up is the ultimate X-Men battle, as Wolverine takes on Magneto.  Wolverine has his jet to take into combat, while Magneto has a giant magnet.  Wolverine comes complete with this long claws!

This set includes two mighty micros, Wolverine and Magneto mini-figures.

So there you have it, we tested six sets this week.  The boys declared it the best week ever! We loved these play sets, with their easy instructions, which were really quick and easy to make.  The boys have had hours of fun playing with them since.

We have some of the first set. IronMan’s helmet looks a bit odd in this one: what do you think? I think me and Chris love Lego more than the kids! #BestandWorst

All of my grandchildren love Lego. I still have a huge box from when my kids were little and it’s still all getting played with. I might invest in some of these new pieces to add to it x

What a great product for you and the boys to review. My kids loved Legos when they were young, in fact we still have a tub of them in storage. But their sets were not nearly this fun. I bet the boys will be playing with these for years to come. But I have two questions for you- Have you started carrying Wonder Woman around with you? LOL And have you stepped on one of these babies with no shoes on? LOL I do remember that!
