An Autumn Tree

An Autumn Tree

We have reached that time of year when we need to get a little creative with keeping the boys occupied.  Some days it rains non-stop, it really can be relentless.  Today was one of those days.

We did a couple of crafts to keep us occupied this afternoon.  This particular one is my favourite.

The Autumn Tree

What you need:

  • coloured card – brown and a colour of your choice
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • paint

How to make the tree:

To make the tree trunk, you will need an arm and hand to draw around. The hardest part of this is keeping the kiddies hands still while you trace around it.  Then cut it out with scissors and stick it to the coloured card.

A glue stick is used to stick the hand and arm cut out onto the orange card

Once this is done, let your little one use their finger to makes the leaves around the tree.  L wanted to use different colours which I love, although we stuck to autumn colours for this pic.

And that, my friends, is that.  Let the painting dry and you have a work of art.

Monkey Thoughts

L loved this task and so did I.  It is easy to do and looks great. D, unfortunately was not so keen.  He doesn’t really like getting his hands dirty so this was not a craft for him.

To see other crafts that we have been up to visit here.

An Autumn Tree, the finished article. Yellow, green, brown and white fingerprints surround a hand and arm to look like a tree.

Such a lovely activity to do with the kids Yvonne. I love seeing how creative children are, it doesn’t matter what age, they just seem to have such beautiful imaginations.
