Football Widow

I am under no illusion, I will become a football widow over the next few weeks.

Not only will my hubby be watching as much football as possible over the next few weeks, he is also disappearing to France for a whole weekend and leaving me with the monkeys.  Crikey!!!

Football Widow Plans

I have been thinking about what my plans are going to be over the next few weeks.  What am I going to do with myself when these, seemingly, 100’s of football matches are on every day??

I have a lot of stuff that I have been meaning to get to grips with on this website, so plan to get that sorted.  And, I plan to wkindle-381242_1920rite a lot of posts so I am ahead of the game, which never, ever happens, I usually only work a week ahead, or just fly by the seat of my pants!

Oh and I have a very exciting book to review, written by the lovely Debbie at My Random Musings. This has come at a perfect time for me as I will need something to keep me entertained!  I absolutely loved her shorts stories during the A to Z Challenge!!!  Thanks so much Debbie, you are a life saver!!!!

One thing the hubby is not getting out of watching is Game of Thrones each week!! That is the only condition, as I refuse to wait until another night to watch it. I might stumble across some spoilers, or find out what happened on twitter!!   Disaster!

I am sure he won’t complain though, as he is pretty obsessed with Game of Thrones as well!

Whoops – accidentally added a Jamie Lannister GIF in there.  I am not sure how that happened.  Ahem….

Huge shout out to everyone else out there who are not a football fan.  I hope the next few weeks are not too painful.

We can do this! Let’s stick together and I am sure the Euros will all be over soon.

Anyway, the football is not going to be on all the time is it?   It won’t be covered on the TV every second of every day for the next month, will it?  Say it isn’t so?

One last thing though, I just want to say…

Go Scotland…  I am sure they will win, won’t they??

Oh hang on, they are not even in it – booooo!!

I am guessing that you are referring to what we call soccer here in the US. We don’t watch soccer but we watch US football in our house like its a life dependence lol. We are all huge Denver Broncos fans. And come August it’s all that is played upon our television. We are camping right now and my hubby and I are hoping that we can stream Game Of Thrones on my iPad. Huge fans of that show! Thanks for linking up with #momsterslink :))

Oh yes I am referring to soccer! Thankfully I havent missed any GOT episodes so I cant complain! x

  2. 15th June 2016 / 1:17 pm

May the force be with you… Or at least plenty of old episodes of GOT to get you through!! When we watched the first episode of the new series, when I saw ‘Kit Harrington’ on the opening credits, I actually jumped up and screamed ‘he’s not dead he’s not dead!! I knew it!!!!!!’ Like a person who would seriously consider leaving their husband for Jon Snow…! Anyway, I digress…! I do feel for you, it’s hard looking after the littlies on your own. My husband loves football, and I was always a football widow, but he’s been really good this time!! He’s taken the day off tomorrow (it’s his birthday,) and he’s going out with friends to watch a match, and will possibly come home drunk afterwards, but I haven’t felt much of an interruption from the football! But like you say, there’s always blogging to do!! (I fly by the seat of my pants every week!!)

Ha ha ha, I love that. I was incredibly excited about seeing Jon Snow back! I think I sometimes forget that they are not real… I am actually enjoying blogging guilt free to be honest 🙂 Oh and I have not got ahead with blog posts at all, not really sure what I have been up to. I think flying by the seat of my pants is maybe a good thing.. he he xx

  3. 14th June 2016 / 6:04 pm

Lol this is so going to be me as well – I’ve tried to show willing buying Monkey a euro tshirt which he can wear with Hubby but that’s about the extent of my excitement! I too will be trying to catch up and scheduled posts…. If I could get more than a week in advance I would be very impressed with myself!! Xx

Unfortunately I have been a bit slack on getting ahead with posts, I am not really sure how I have managed it. I am wondering if I am always destined to be unorganised! x

  4. 14th June 2016 / 4:05 pm

I quite like it – perfect excuse to spend my evening blogging 🙂

ha ha, I love that!! Not to painful I have to admit, apart from the usual “stop and watch this goal, isn’t it great”. Poor hubby would love me to love football, I try to sound enthusiastic 🙂 x

  6. 13th June 2016 / 11:54 pm

The world cup and the euro are the only time I watch football matches, but with a toddler around its been a little bit tricky. So far I think I’ve seen about 6 minutes of one match. Suffice to say we probably wont catch much of it this year, which actually suits me just fine. Luckily for me I dont have footie mad, or even remotely interested husband so im counting my lucky stars that he isnt dissapearing for france for a weekend – I feel your pain! Good luck with the little ones, but the silver lining is definitely getting to do some of your own bits for a whole weekend 😉 Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Emily

  8. 13th June 2016 / 12:20 pm

oh no football! I feel for you, but fortunately we don’t do football in our house (I can’t stand it) but we do watch F1 and MotoGP religiously, but thats ok, I can stand those two lol – good luck! sounds like you have a few things to do though 😉 #momsterlink

I have a little boy obsessed with F1 so we get that too, although I dont mind that as much I have to say xxx

  9. 12th June 2016 / 11:48 am

I must admit that I am the same as your husband – I’ve already been glued to the football and the tournament has only just begun!

  10. 12th June 2016 / 9:53 am

Ha ha. Think we’ll be seeing lots of football too (along with cricket on the radio!) Although I don’t watch much of it myself, I quite like the fact it keeps my hubby and son entertained, and my daughter and I can do some girlie stuff 🙂

  11. 12th June 2016 / 8:29 am

I am so glad my husband isn’t a football fan, lol! If I were you I’d go out and have loads of fantastic adventures while he’s watching tv. 🙂

  12. 11th June 2016 / 7:38 pm

I’m giggling because my partner and I have just been debating what to watch tonight I suggested football he suggested catching up on last weeks GOT so I read this and belly laughed..I’m never a football widow but am a rugby one, if he’s having a holiday away then I think that means for karmic purposes you deserve a spa break…I watched that clip and spent the whole time thinking…pretty impressed a horse can do steps…lol #fortheloveofBLOG

If scotland was in it I would probably be a lot more into it I have to admit. I used to not mind it pre-kids, when it meant an excuse to go to the pub, but those days are sadly over 🙂 x

  14. 11th June 2016 / 6:37 pm

Huh? Football? All I saw was Jamie Lannister…. 😉 hehehe

      16th June 2016 / 8:28 pm

Every time one of these competitions with these overpaid children kicking a ball around comes along, I get to remember how lucky I am that I married an anti football man! One of the few I think!

I feel your pain though, I am a PlayStation widow, and have the same stipulation re Game of Thrones, or should I say Jamie and John!!

    • Double the Monkey Business
      16th June 2016 / 8:28 pm

God he’s delicious. And as for John Snow…he could keep me warm on a cold night. Sorry, carried away! Haha!!
Bless you Yvonne, I hope the monkey’s behave themselves for you. I have to admit, I quite like the football but only england matches or big ones where I know it’l be a good game.
